Mission: S.H.E. (Supporting, Helping, Empowering) Counts Davis Girl Power Math Club. The mission of S.H.E. COUNTS is to support, help, and empower women and girls in Poweshiek County. Created in 2013, S.H.E. COUNTS is headed by a diverse group of women within the county who are committed to helping move women and girls towards self-reliance.
Location: Grinnell (0.7 miles from Grinnell College)
Needs: Volunteers meet once weekly with 3rd and 4th grade students at Davis Elementary for an after school math education program.
Volunteers: needed on an on-going basis
When is service needed: There is a weekly need for volunteers October through March
Number of hours: 1-2 hours/weekly

Operation information: Specific Goals of S.H.E. COUNTS includes:
- Annually support a local graduating female senior with a scholarship for post-secondary education
- Annually support and promote awareness for International Women’s Day on March 8th
- Support 3rd and 4th grade girls with after school educational math programming
- Provide financial educational opportunities for women in our county
- Host high school luncheons for future first generation girls attending college
