Habitat for Humanity – Marion County

Website: https://www.hfhmci.com/

Mission: Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home.  we believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities. We build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. VISION:  A world where everyone has a decent place to live.  MISSION:  Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Location: Pella and throughout Marion County

Needs: Either individuals or groups can volunteer on construction sites. Typically, it’s easiest to organize a work day with groups of 6 to 12 people, but we are happy to work with you if your group is smaller or larger.   The five main committees include Building, Community Development, Family Selection, Family Support, and Site Selection. These committees are comprised of volunteers and keep the organization moving forward. If you are interested in joining a committee, please feel free to call the office.

Do you see yourself as supportive, friendly, willing to help a family as they embark on this new chapter in their lives? If so, consider sponsoring a Habitat Partner Family.  A family sponsor is a friend and supporter, a consistent contact for questions and concerns, an advocate and guide for the family through the process of becoming a Habitat homeowner.
