Mission: The Grinnell-Newburg School District, in partnership with the entire community, will empower every student to become a lifelong learner who is a responsible, productive and engaged citizen within the global community.

Needs: Here are some of the ways that Grinnell College students volunteer with GMS:
- Connecting Grinnellians – Grinnell College students tutor GMS students on a weekly basis
- Invisible Closet Support – Grinnell College students organize and maintain the invisible closet at GMS
- ELL Tutoring – Grinnell College students provide tutoring to support needs of students who are learning English
- Art Club – Grinnell College students provide a weekly after school art program (check with Tilly Woodward at Grinnell College Museum of Art)
- LINK Mentoring – Grinnell College students volunteer through LINK Mentoring and mentor GMS students on a weekly basis
- Other Mentoring – players from the Grinnell College women’s basketball team mentored GMS students on a bi-weekly basis
