Mission: Drake Library is a community resource center striving to inform and empower every person in the community through responsive services, collections and programs.  DCL will be a place where people have open access to the  power of information and the joy of reading, a crossroads for social interactions and the exchange of ideas and cultural enrichment.

Location: Grinnell (0.1 miles from Grinnell College)

NeedsWe use volunteers to add capacity to our service to the community. This can look like many different things including program management for any age programming, collection assistance and archival opportunities.

 

Volunteers:  Volunteers needed for one time events and sometimes short term projects

When is service needed:  year-round

Number of hours: flexible, as much or little as is possible for the volunteer

Modality: in-person only

 

Prerequisites: Archival work will require some digital training on specific software.

Background check required: yes

 

Training supplied: Most training is about our organization and what we do, including our mission and goals.

Equipment or logistics supplied: Students just need to bring themselves.
